EWG Personal Translator is a Discord user-installed app — it installs to your own Discord account, not to a server, and travels with you into every server and DM where user apps are allowed. It does not run in the background and does not read your messages automatically. Every translation is something you ask for, on the specific message you choose. The bot is powered by the World Understanding Project's proprietary Translation Matrix, which supports 200 +/- languages. Google Translate is used as a fallback only. The translation infrastructure is owned and operated entirely by Ever Watchful Guardian — it is not a resale of any third-party translation service. Nor is it avaible for resale, rent, or lease.

EWG Personal Translator installs to your Discord account, not to a server. Because it is a user-installed app, there is nothing for a server owner to configure, approve, or invite — you add it once and it becomes available to you anywhere Discord permits user apps.
EWG Personal Translator does not request View Channels, Read Message History, Manage Server, or any other server-level permission. It works entirely through slash commands and right-click app commands, which Discord delivers directly to the bot without any standing access to channel content.
EWG Personal Translator is not publicly listed in the Discord App Directory. Access is by invitation from Ever Watchful Guardian. When the subscription process is completed you will be automatically directed to a web page containg the Discord Bot link.
Step 1: Open the invite link you see on the webpage.
Step 2: Discord will open an authorization screen.
Step 3: Confirm you are adding the app to your account ("Add to My Apps"), not to a server.
Step 4: Review the requested access and click Authorize.
Step 5: Complete any CAPTCHA if prompted.
Once authorized, the right-click commands and slash commands become available to you in any server or DM where user apps are permitted. No additional setup is required to begin using it.
Note: Some servers restrict user-installed apps for their members. If the commands do not appear in a particular server, that server has disabled external app integrations — this is a setting controlled by that server, not by EWG Personal Translator.
After authorizing, confirm it is working:
/help in any channel or DM — the bot will reply with your current language and the full command list
/mylang to set your language
Your language controls what Translate Message translates into. Set it once and it applies everywhere you use the bot.
/mylang — opens a searchable dropdown. Start typing a language name (not a code) and select it from the matches.

To reset back to the default:/mylang_clear — Reset your language to English
Note: If you never run /mylang, your language defaults to English.
Known limitation: During this beta build, your language choice is stored in memory only. If the bot restarts, everyone's saved language resets to English and you will need to run /mylang again. This is expected behavior, not an error.
These are the fastest way to use EWG Personal Translator and require no typing of commands. Results are shown privately — only you can see them.
Translates any message into your language, set with /mylang.
Right-click (or long-press on mobile) the message > Apps > Translate Message
Example: You see a message posted in French. Right-click it, choose Translate Message, and the English (or your set language) translation appears privately below the message.
Note: If you have not run /mylang yet, this translates to English by default.
Detects the language of a message and lets you type a reply in English that gets translated into that language for you to copy and paste.
Right-click the message you are replying to > Apps > Translate My Reply
A popup window opens with a text box.
Example: Someone posts "¿Cuándo empieza el evento?" You right-click it, choose Translate My Reply, and type "It starts at 8pm!" in the box. Submitting returns the Spanish translation for you to paste as your reply.
Note: The reply box accepts up to 1000 characters and must be typed in English.

The language field uses the same searchable dropdown as /mylang — start typing a language name and select it from the matches.

Example: /detect Bonjour tout le monde replies with the detected language and an English translation for reference.
You can access help and privacy information at any time:/help — Shows your current set language and the full command list/privacy — Shows the EWG Translator Privacy Policy link/languages — Lists all currently supported languages
Use these with /mylang /translate X# languages are supported in total through the WUP translation matrix spine.
EWG Personal Translator requires minimal ongoing management — there is no server configuration, no channels to set up, and nothing to maintain beyond your own language preference.
Run /help at any time to see the language currently set for your account.
Run /mylang again at any time and select a new language — this immediately replaces your previous setting.
Run /mylang_clear to remove your saved language and return to the English default.
To remove EWG Personal Translator from your account, open Discord Settings > Authorized Apps, find EWG Personal Translator, and remove it. To disable it in one specific server without fully removing it, that server's members can turn off user apps for themselves under that server's Privacy Settings > App Settings.
